Pack #118 –
It’s that time of the Scouting year again….POPCORN SEASON IS HERE!!! We have worked with the Council and Trail’s End to improve the tools available to ensure our popcorn sales season runs smoothly and is a big success again in 2019. Below are instructions on how to download the Trail’s End app and register your Scout in order to track sales and process payment for orders directly in the app. I’ve used the app and have found it to be very intuitive and user friendly. Installing and using the “Trail’s End” app: 1. Go to the App Store and download “Trail’s End” app – it is the one with the canoe outline. 2. Install the app and open it on your phone 3. First screen allows you to register your Scout – it is best to use the option to “Parent Registering for Scout” option. 4. Go through the registration process – it is very straightforward and easy 5. Make sure you choose: a. Council = Mecklenburg County b. District = 3. Etowah c. Unit = PACK 118. There is also a Crew 118, but that is not the correct one. 6. Once registration is complete you should click on the “Dashboard” icon on the bottom left to take you to the opening screen. a. From there you can register “Wagon Sales” where you take product for door-to-door sales. b. “Storefront” is the same as “Show and Sells” that we’ve historically done. -- BE SURE TO REGISTER FOR STOREFRONT SHIFTS FROM THE DASHBOARD -- Click on the word “Upcoming” on the right side of the screen to display all available shifts for Storefront sales. We have over 100 shifts spread out over the next 4 weekends, so you will be able to find some shifts that work for your schedules. 7. The app allows you to process credit card payments directly in the app, which is a huge plus compared to last year! Rewards: 1. This year we are keeping reward levels the same as last year: a. All prizes from Trail’s End will be delivered via Amazon.com gift cards, so it is critical that you register your Scout through the app in order to receive the Trail’s End prizes. b. Pack 118 gives out weekly prizes by Den through raffle drawings each week. Every Scout who makes a popcorn sale that week, or who works a shift at our Show-and-Sells will have their name entered into the raffle and a winner will be picked out by Den. c. 10% of each Scout’s sales are credit against fees, such as: camping trips, membership renewals, etc. Volunteers needed to assist with Popcorn Sales: 1. Take and Sell / Wagon Sales Coordinator – each week we will allows Scouts to check-out popcorn that can be sold directly to customers through Take and Sell. 2. 2-3 volunteers who can assist with the weekly raffle drawings for prizes by Den. Thank you for all that you do to make sure Popcorn Sales are a success this year. Scout On! Your Popcorn Committee Christopher J. Nobili
